"We have just spent a week in Casa Rio Arade, in a little village near Portimao. It is a beautifully restored house, with a wonderful host. John will do everything he can to make your stay as memorable as possible. The pool is just bliss after a hot day sightseeing! It is a great base for exploring that part of the Algarve, or for playing golf if that is what you like. The house is so nice that you might not want to go anywhere at all."
"Rio Arade is a real gem as soon as you step throught the front door there is an immediate sense of tranquilty. The decor is very simple and the environment is bright and airy. We were immediately made to feel extremely welcome and this continued throughout our stay. There is a real attention to detail and a desire to ensure that you get the most out of your stay. We can't praise it highly enough other than to say it is a very special place." "Our visit to Rio arade was just perfect, nice room whit air-co, terras and lovely garden whit swimming pool. We didn't use the barbecue in the garden, maybe next time. A complete breakfast for us and several suggestions for dinner by the locals. John gave us many ideas to spent our time and was very helpful. We think you can go there for the hole year, to visit near places and the leisure centre whit lots of discounts. We went for 3 nights, so for us when we go to Portugal many more!" "This is certainly a great place for a holiday in Algarve. And I'm portuguese so I should know. The front of the house is not as charming as the interior and the courtyard on the back which are both splendid. The spa facilities on the leisure center nearby are great and, if you are gourmet, there are plenty of typical restaurants in and around the village to feed your mouth and your soul of authentic portuguese cuisine." Don't miss a daytrip to Ferragudo. "Had a great welcome - John instantly knew our groups names (16) and made us all feel welcome and at home immediately. Food and accomodation excellent and service was given with a smile. "Honesty" bar system makes you feel at home and encourages getting together before and after set functions - BBQ at the hotel or visit to local restaurant. All in all, a place we will come back to and tell our friends, both here and abroard, to visit. We live in the Algarve permanently and this is one of the few real gems we have found." The House has nine individually decorated bedrooms each with lovely co-ordinated fabrics. We had Room G which was to the back of the House and had its own private terrace overlooking the pool. The room was kept spotlessly clean, towels and linens changed regularily during our stay. The Buffet Breakfast was superb, having fresh juice, cereals, yoghurt, meats and cheese, fresh fruit, various breads and eggs. John O'Neil the owner and his lovely staff could not be more helpful. Very charming and with a wealth of knowledge in places to see /restaurants to go to...the beaches and golf courses. It really wasn't like staying in an Hotel -- more like staying at a friends home.Highly recommended!"
